Punk, rock och annat gött promises the indoor festival called Vrålet! which is coming back to the city for the second time now! Filmstudion in Lindholmen part of the city will again be the arena for local and international acts from eight different countries. Vrålet! also presents many underground acts and thrives to be a happening that can introduce many new bands for new audiences. But what is the idea behind Vrålet! and where does it originate from? What makes this festival stick out from the many other punk and rock related festivals in Gothenburg? One of the founding members of the festival, Christian Trollvik is our guest of the show. We are listening and talking of the playlist consisting of old and new Troublemakers' songs, songs that have had a huge impact on young Christer and songs that have blown his mind during the years and are still close at heart today. This time we take a closer look at an association called Punkpöbel which has been organizing shows, Fragile Mountain Festival and pushing the ideals of DIY punk actively in the city for the last ten years. Otis and Henke of Punkpöbel are talking about the history, the idea and the future of it all and the importance of free spaces in the city. There are a whole lot of gigs to explore again and musically we are heading from grindcore to psychedelic rock from punk metal to stoner vibes and hardcore. All packed again in one hour portion for you to digest and find out what's happening in the underground rock scene of GBG in near future.

GBGAH goes garage punk, synth-rock, post-punk, hardcore and even folk inspired by Swedish parish music traditions. On this special episode Marko Gillingsmark of the clubs, label and fanzine called Levande Begravd is our guest from start to finish. Marko has been organizing shows from the early 2000 on in Gothenburg. His clubs are widely curated from the most interesting local underground rock acts and the coolest international up and coming bands. Marko tends to put up DIY shows for bands before they explode to bigger names everyone seems to hype about. Marko is also a record collector enthusiast and a playlist curated by him is played during the show. It consists of acts he has put out through the label, the bands that have had the biggest impact on him and also the local Gothenburg acts he thinks are the most interesting at the moment. It's time to get possessed by excellent music and buried alive by vinyl records!

The Abyss 10 years / Maja Sofic

This time GBGAH goes metal! The Abyss, the one and only heavy metal bar in Gothenburg is turning 10 years old and we have the owner and operator of the venue, Maja Sofic as our guest. The Abyss is located on "the party street of the city", Andra långgatan and has hosted many local and international acts along the way. Concentrating on the underground metal, many of the legendary acts have paid their visit in The Abyss. The venue is considered as the other living room for many metalheads and rockers alike. The place has gone through a lot and the decade long way has not been the easiest for The Abyss. Nevertheless it has survived through pandemic times and other crises and is still standing. But new winds of change are blowing and Maja has sold the place to new owners the day this live broadcast was aired! The playlist will reveal the most memorable acts Maja has organized at the venue, her favorite local acts and other influences that made her a dedicated heavy metal fan.

The Insane Week of Rock

This time GBG Alternative hour makes a new record by playing more music than ever before from all the relevant artists that will perform this week or the near future in the city. A horde of American bands are about to embark GBG and many really cool local acts are also playing either with them or own their own. The play list varies from krautrock to riot grrrl, from instrumental post-metal to psychedelic hard rock and from punk to sludgy metal. Better crank up your audio player and get your arse informed about all that's happening so you won't miss your (next) favourite band playing a venue near you!

Sidestep / John Rundlöw & Nils Jutblad

This time Göteborg Alternative Hour is jumping head first to the windmill pit of beatdown hardcore showing off some verbal slamdance moves with the internationally acclaimed local metallic hardcore act Sidestep. They have just put out a new EP and are further pushing the envelope what "tough guy" hardcore could sound like. Mixing in some skits, samples and turntable scratches from hip hop and blending in even some reggae rhythms and introducing clear melodic vocals in choruses. A stable blend of modern urban music with a lot of influences from 90's music traditions. The drummer John Rundlöw and the guitarist Nils Jutblad are talking about tour memories, where they gather all their influences, the releases and Gothenburg hardcore scene in general. In addition we will also have a dip into some new interesting rock releases by prominent members of some famous metal and rock bands going solo. Also we will be checking out what Walpurgi's week looks like in the rock clubs of Gothenburg.

Flyktsoda / Johan Lundberg

Another special episode of GBGAH takes us deeper to the world of political hardcore punk. Gothenburg based Flyktsoda Records is turning 10 years old this year and we'll celebrate it by having Johan Lundberg, the person behind the label that started out as a punk fanzine in 2014. We will play stuff that Johan has either released during the past decade or played in as a guitarist and a singer and / or influenced him the most during his life. We will talk of the reasons behind Flyktsoda and the political background of Johan and his take on the current societal climate and the sights for the future of mankind. All accompanied with a great playlist of punk from the '70's to date!

Græns / Axel Sjöberg

This time GBGAH will take a bit more psychedelic approach to Gothenburg's rock scene. We have Axel Sjöberg, the original drummer of Graveyard with us as a guest. His band Græns has a new album upcoming and they've been touring with the Dutch Anatolian rock band Altin Gün lately. There will be a real treat later this Spring when Græns will take the whole Pustervik venue over for a night with another interesting Gothenburg act Fauna with their album release show accompanied by the Japanese kraut rock band Minami Deutch. Axel's been a prominent figure in the rock scene of Gothenburg for a quite a while running an unofficial venue of his own that got busted by the cops. We're sure to hear stories from that and also an analysis on the state of Gothenburg rock city. In addition to that we will listen to an assortment of classic and modern pop rock relevant to GBG and also some blackened death metal, punk and hardcore. Hop along!

The special episode of GBG Alternative Hour is having Per Stålberg, a prominent figure of Gothenburg's underground circles as a guest through the whole show! Per is the founding member and driving force of bands such as Division Of Laura Lee, Pablo Matisse, Child, Modern Guilt, Outstand, The Smoke and many more. He is also a sound engineer by profession and founder of the Welfare Sounds & Records label and studio. He is also the co-owner of Avart Records store. We dig into Per's background and reasons for being such an active and internationally known individual of the rock scene in Gothenburg and the whole Sweden. Rome Is Not A Town

The third episode of Göteborg Alternative Hour will offer a diverse package of hardcore, oi!, oriental psychedelia, indie rock, punk, garage and death metal related to the great Gothenburg area. In addition to just informing abput all the interesting gigs and hand picking songs from the local and international acts coming to the city in near future, there is also the interview of Rome Is Not A Town. A Gothenburg based indie rock act which just released their second album Echoes of Love.
